What is Neurological Rehabilitation?

Neurological rehabilitation is a specialized branch of physiotherapy focused on treating individuals with conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, and nerves. These conditions can disrupt the way your brain communicates with your body, leading to challenges with movement, sensation, balance, and coordination.

Our goal is to use targeted, evidence-based techniques to help your nervous system “re-wire” itself (a process called neuroplasticity) to recover lost functions and develop new ways of moving.

    • Stroke (CVA) Rehabilitation: Regaining movement, balance, and coordination on one side of the body (hemiplegia).

    • Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Rehabilitation: Improving trunk control, strength, and mobility, with a focus on functional independence.

    • Parkinson’s Disease: Using LSVT BIG and other techniques to improve amplitude of movement, balance, and walking.

    • Multiple Sclerosis (MS): Managing fatigue, improving strength, and maintaining mobility through different stages of the condition.

    • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI): Retraining motor skills, balance, and coordination.

    • Peripheral Neuropathy: Managing symptoms like numbness, pain, and weakness, often associated with diabetes, to improve safety and walking.
